Wanda and Vision, Fairly Odd Parents
Episode 2 : Don't Touch That Dial.
What it do Earthlingsssss!!!! How have you guys been doing this weekend? Not much from this end but grateful to God for yet another day! Now that I have your attention, I'm still going to remind you guys about my up and coming announcement, (we LOVE the aura of mystery here). Which I will announce...is now in order...I hope to drop some merch soon!!! That merch will be provided by Patreon in the mean time. So if you want to be the first to receive that merch, please head to my Patreon
here, it will also be in the sidebar column. There are a bunch of different tiers which will help support me. So you can choose which suits you. And guess what, the first month is free, so payments don't start till 1 October ;-))) Thank you guys so much! It's much appreciated. But I am hoping to watch Suicide Squad in the cinemas rather than at home, so I hope to get around to that soon so that I can have that out soon. I really hope we get to see Joker in this new Suicide Squad movie. I remember a couple years ago when the movie was released, people actually believed that Joker died, but real stans know he didn't. If you are still puzzled, just stick around for the extra scene when you watch the first movie and obviously keep that in mind for future reference.
ENOUGH of that, let's get into todays semi-juicy topic. I won't lie, not a lot happened in this episode but there was still some advancements in the plot. Although there is still a lot I am confused on or rather stuff that has not been revealed yet, but of course in due time.
First things first, I want to mention and drag attention to the fact that this series just screams passive AGGRESSIVE, like if this was a person this is exactly what it would look like right about...
here. Enjoy that GEM💎. Let me explain. So there was one scene where Wanda was like,
my husband and his unbreakable head.
I mean did she try to break his head before or...
WELP!
And apart of me thinks that it's some kind of joke considering Thanos literally SNATCHED the mind stone from Visions forehead. But anyways. I do not know what I expected of them as a married couple but it certainly did not meet what I would have presumed. The fact that they had separate beds did not make sense. They are definitely not your everyday insta couple...they're better. I found it to be very interesting how Wanda drew the two beds together, of course using her powers, in fear of what was outside. Is that a subliminal message to the viewers that they came together through fear, what have they to be afraid of, I mean they basically saved the "world", (America), several times.
I will try to write in order of events, I feel that will make it easier for my readers to follow along, whether you watched "WandaVision" or not.
There is an obvious theme of the modern couple versus the traditional world/setting. One very obvious example of this in today's episode, was the fact that Wanda was wearing trousers, that and the fact that Vision clearly had no problem with it or had no problem with what other people in the neighbourhood would think considering she was also married. If we even travel back in time, just for a split second, trousers or jeans, whatever you refer to them as, were originally created for working men. So that in itself would have stirred the pot. Wanda also knew that people may have a problem with it but she did not seem to care, and we STAN that. That is also quite a contradiction on Wanda's part, for the reason that she did at some point in the episode want to fit in with the "populars".
Another thing that sparked just a little bit of intrigue was how this episodes' plot was centred around Vision's magic show for the charity organisation, for the children. Magic shows is not really about magic is it? It's all about optical illusions, and playing tricks on the mind. So is this series all a mind game, or not?
This one thing still troubles me. Just when something unusual happens there's this great tensions between the characters and the viewers. Wanda always looks directly at the camera like she's crying for help, this is such a great cinematic trick, it really gets the viewers invested and involved. The camera close up is an odd equivalent to Wanda's realisation that this may be a stimulation, and with each time it seems someone is on the other side trying to wake her up or get through to her and communicate to help her out of whatever state she's in. For example, a quote from the episode, who is doing this to you, like who is doing this to Wanda? It seems this is something she has to figure out all on her own. Again more questions were posed, was the break of glass significant? It puzzled me because when the lady's hand, (don't remember he name, soz), got cut with the glass, she bled, but it was not the fact that she bled that puzzled me, I would be worried if she did not. It's because her blood was actually in colour. Again what is this whole significance with the colour red????
Funny thing is, it reminded me of the movie "Schindler's List", where it was all filmed more or less in black and white except for specific scenes which bore significance to the movie. The scenes in which a girl in a red jacket could be seen in some or one scene of the movie.
But moving on!
Now this scene was also pretty interesting and I had a lot of rising questions after it, all of which I hope will be answered. The red helicopter scene. Again everything is in black and white and then there is one thing that just so happens to be in colour, and that colour just so happens to be red. Is there a significance with the colour of these objects? There's absolutely no doubt in my mind there is significance with these items, I hope they were not just placing random items to not follow them through. Now this theory is a long shot but what if, just what if the helicopter was a replica of the one her brother, aka Quicksilver's body was placed on after he supposedly "died". Excuse me for that, but we never exactly got a funeral. Which is a time for closure, which she might have never gotten.
I know it's like some American's to constantly have war jokes and references in their film productions, so I will have to assumer that's why there are so many in this series, especially due to the timeline the series is based in. There were also, I'm guessing some references to the Avengers, one being Thor, with the line, can't even swing a hammer.
Now we are advancing closer and closer to the end of the episode. And I am absolutely convinced this is not a reality. The woman's hand was completely "healed" by the start of the fundraising, not even a bandage or plaster was on her cut from before, and that seemed to be a very deep cut. Unless she is some vampire or werewolf then okay but otherwise...girl.
But nothing can top the fact that Wanda was pregnant by the end of the episode, HOW? I mean I know how, but HOW? This definitely has to be Wanda's own utopia, considering all she had to say was no to rewind and avoid something possibly bad from happening. We know she is in control.
I LOVE the fact that everything was in black and white until she seemed to experience a form of intimacy with Vision, which was the kiss they shared. Does that mean just like us, they saw everything in black and white.
So folks that's it. That is pretty much everything that I noticed within this episode, feel free to share your opinions by email or comment or on my superhero Instagram account;-)
Stay tuned for the next episode digest and review. After the WandaVision Marvel Digest series, I will be moving on to Falcon and the Winter Soldier, so stay tuned for that.
Alright Earthlings, signing off now! Got to go save the world and do some superhero stuff🦸🦸🦸
