Marvel Digest: WandaVision (ep. 3)

Scarlett Witch is back, I mean...was she ever gone??? 

Episode 3 : Now in Colour.

Hellooo my lovely Earthlings!!!! How are you guys doing? I'm pretty great in case you were wondering, lol. But first things first, I have to clarify that my blog posts are on schedule so they are typically posted 1-4 weeks after they are written so keep that in mind for what I am about to talk about next. So in recent days there has been a lot of talk on different media platforms and outlets on what is currently going on in Afghanistan, let's keep them in our prayers by the way. Most especially those that have already been affected, and please pray for refuge for those that are in dire need of fleeing the country. I am still learning a lot about the situation and am trying to find out more and keep up to date with what's going on, but that's not all. There are many ways we can help, from talking to posting about this current situation. I would also advice to sign petitions that could help in any way, shape or form, please guys, we really need to work together and hope and actively fight for change. I will leave some links of petitions and Instagram pages you can get some more information from. Here, here, here, and here. Now let's get into today's topic. I'm sure you saw by the headline that I am quite unsure of whether or not Scarlet Witch, aka Wanda, is really back. Why, you may ask? Well, I mean her Russian self and persona pretty much disappeared, not faded but disappeared. I mean every last trace of her accent along with her twin, Pietro. What I mean is that in "Age of Ultron" she had a whole Russian accent thing going on, but after that movie it seemed that Marvel forgot or rather left her whole entire Russian side, as in, she went from a very thick distinct Russian accent to an all American accent. Was it planned? I really do not know, but what I do know is that it was weird and surprisingly went unnoticed for quite some time. Do I think her rendition of her accent in episode three is the real Scarlet Witch starting to cocoon, maybe. But for now we are going to keep our ears open and our eyes peeled.

Moving on, there's now a different decade that we are in, I'm guessing the 70's or 60's, correct me if I'm wrong. At first, I was like, "how long has she been pregnant", because we have now just finished an entire decade so...somebody needs to do some explaining. But of course I was reassured that her super sonic ultra speed pregnancy had just been about a day, or night rather, old. Of course confirmed by our dear Mr. Doc. This pregnancy was giving Sims vibes, am I here for it, I don't know yet. I guess in a way it was most definitely needed because our girl Geraldine needed to be exposed for whatever it is she was planning. The sooner the better, so we could assess whether or not she was a friend or foe. I'm hoping friend but you never know.

One thing I did take note of, was they seem to be more comfortable and fit better in this decade than the last one, at least in my own opinion. I can definitely sense that Vision was really feeling his new hairstyle. Reason being this decade is all about change and liberalism, in terms of hairstyle, clothing, politics, and even social reforms. 

Going back to Wanda's pregnancy, I found it unusual that all the doctor did to confirm she was pregnant was by listening to her stomach through his medical instrument. I mean, I'm sure there's better, more efficient and more thorough ways of making sure she is indeed pregnant. At least to rule out if it was a growth or tumour. I do have to add that Wanda's pregnancy is quite disproportional to the rest of her body, most especially from the side profile. But I did have a feeling that it could be twins, and of course I was proven right! I did however enjoy Visions dad jokes, and I pray there are many more to come! So cheers to that, or as they say in Brazil, TIN TIN!

Since we are still on some of the more comical scenes of "WandaVision", there is a stream of things I just want to, hopefully, briefly touch on. Now the stork, raise your hand if at some point in your childhood you believed babies were delivered by stork. I don't see those hands...come ON! I can thank "Dumbo2 for that<3 ;-)

I thought that was very creative and it just reeled in so many memories, when I tell you I actually miss being younger, it's actually crazy how time is just flying by. And that is why it's even more important to make the most of it. But chile-

Can we talk about her water breaking, and I thought I was a bit dramatic, but imagine trying to explain the fact that it was raining on the inside if your home. I think that scene proved that it is possible, I know scientists are shaking right now. 

Getting slightly more serious, why is it that every time the episode or any certain scene gets remotely serious and in a way realistic it rewinds and shifts back in time before the moment happened, almost on Wanda's command. I can't help but to think she is in complete control, but you will see this view of mine shifts as we progress through this article.

Again, this entire series is extremely unsettling and definitely worth the watch, I have to admit Marvel did a great job with this series, but it's like girl, I'm still trying to grasp what's even happening. I do strongly believe that it is quite peculiar that Wanda somehow recalls events, her brother's death and life, even though based on the decade she is in and the timeline of events, it realistically never happened. She talks of it as if it is in her tragic past when realistically based on time of events it is yet to happen in her distorted reality. What puzzles me even more is how does Geraldine know about Pietro and how does apparently their neighbourhood know that she is not one of them, as in she is practically a nomad with a mysterious past that contradicts what she has said about herself. It makes me wonder, who is she really? I know there was some talks about how she was the little girl from "Captain Marvel". I'm not saying that is not true, what I am saying is if it is, the timeline of events don't really make sense, but I guess we will wait and see to be honest. I will add though that at first I recognised the symbol of Geraldine necklace as the same symbol that was on the toy helicopter the episode before, I have to wonder if maybe it was Geraldine and her "crew", aka suspected S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, were trying to reach out to her from the very start. Maybe...maybe not. Are Wanda and Vision's two neighbours all in it too or do they just know who Geraldine is? Why were they willing to risk help Wanda and Vision know who exactly Geraldine is?

I did notice Marvel's cinematography in action, with the quick change of camera frame to help us differentiate between the stimulation/past and the reality/present. It was quite nice as it gave clarity without doing a whole lot. I do not exactly know every single detail on America and it's various states and cities and towns and all but where is Westview and is it a real place? If this question is not answered through the series and the upcoming episodes then I will obviously search it up for myself, not right now as I am trying to avoid spoilers.

Lastly, by the end of it, I was left with so many questions. Is this then really Wanda's conjured fantasy? Are those agents in the closing scene really the F.B.I. or are they our dear S.H.I.E.L.D. agents? I mean which one is it? How exactly did Geraldine get out and did Wanda have anything to do with it? And of course, if she did, then she must know that this is a stimulation in which she is in control of? And if that is the case, does she ever plan on leaving this delusion?
