Marvel Digest : WandaVision (ep. 6)

Don't Mess with Wanda Episode 6 : All-New Halloween Spooktacular! Hello Earthlings!!! I know I've been away for long and I also remember promising I would post more consistently, which I have honestly been trying to do but I guess school had other plans. Athough, now I do think I have a more steady and hopefully better routine. Do not forget to head over to my patreon and I will leave a link here . I do have some further announcements which I will happily leave till the end of this post but until then, enjoy todays pretty brief article. Can I just start by saying I am loving this new Wanda. She is ruthless, cut-throat, and ready for any one that wishes to step in her way. I have to say, we love a determined Queen. But enough with that. The twins have grown even more!!! Billy is looking more and more like Pietro everyday. Which is ironic considering Tommy is supposed to be Pietro's "evil spawn". lol. I did, however, did not like Pietro's outfit. I would have h...

Marvel Digest : WandaVision (ep. 4)

It's Wanda's world, we are all just living in it.

Episode 4 : We Interrupt This Program.

Hello my beautiful Earthlings, how are you guys doing today!!! I've actually quite missed you guys, I won't even lie, but...I do want to get some things out of the way first. Soooo, I recently created a google group, which will act as an email listing as the normal subscriber button will not be available any longer. If you want to be apart of the fam, simply comment down below and I will add you to the group/email listing. With time I will try and make the group more interactive where you guys can actually interact with each other, and I would hope to make it a safe place for you all. We'll have to wait and see. And I ALWAYS forget to mention this, but there is a translate icon, brought to you by Google...of course, so if you are learning or want to read my blogposts in a different language there is the option to change the language. Now I am not a 100% sure if the translations are top tier but sure look, IS WHAT IT IS <3

Soooo today's episode is exactly what we've been craving, CLARITY. For the first time since I started this series I do not feel as if my my leg is being pulled by MCU writers and producers. The amount of stuff that were clarified within the first 20 minutes was honestly a huge relief, because the entire mystery was slowing picking at my face and eating me alive!

I will again try and bring this post to you in the most fluent and best form, as I did have a lot of thoughts, in fact almost 4 pages.

First things first, I want to get some initial things out of the way so we can progress deeper. In the "previously" of this episode, I thought Geraldine  seemed awfully surprised that Wanda introduced herself to her considering maybe because she was stunned Wanda did not recognise her. But with further inspection, I have to assume Geraldine's reaction was due to the fact that for a split second she did not know who she was and that name immediately came to surface for her.

*DISCLAIMER; when I am referencing the reality world I will refer to Geraldine as Monica as that is her name in the real world in the series, but when I am referencing her in Wanda's conjured fantasy I will refer to her as Geraldine. So just keep that in mind ;-)*

The episode is quickly set in motion with Monica appearing. At first I thought she was morphing into something, I thought maybe she was a mutant, alien, or supernatural being. Then we saw that happening to some people in that scene. Might I say, it was pretty much giving kinetic sand. We find that she is looking for a patient which later turns out to be her mother, who had passed away three years prior without her knowledge. That in itself was enough for me to do the maths and realise that this is set after the disintegration, aka, Thanos back at it again. Also did I forget to mention that her mother is THE one and ONLY Maria Rambeau. At first the name itself did not ring a bell but once I saw her picture I knew right away who she was. And wowwww Monica's gotten so bigggg, we practically watched her grow up minus the possibly 15 or so odd years we missed of her life lol. But moment of silence for her loss.

Right!

When I heard the organisation S.W.O.R.D., I was like what happened to S.H.I.E.L.D., like did I miss something??? So we quickly found out that S.W.O.R.D. was established by Ms. Rambeau, she legit built this place. And they observe/inspect weapons. At first, I thought maybe that was some synonym for aliens and any other life form that is not human or animals, but no, I stood corrected, it was really  and truly weapons.
I do have to say that MCU and trauma really work hand in hand at this point, they could not even let Monica say goodbye to her mum.

Now, let us get into this Westview. A place in New Jersey that exists, but not really? Why does Westview not exist? Is Eastview just where all the cool people are??? Westview is practically a ghost town, in which no one has any recollection that it even existed. When 3,392 people are missing from an entire town, people cannot just sit ducks. I obviously doubt this has anything to do directly with Thanos, passively definitely, considering if it did, it would have most likely been due to disintegration but they would have all come back by now. From what it looks like to me all the people or majority, disintegrated and by the time they came back, Wanda had casted them into her utopia. I do have to ask, how do they know no one is allowed in Westview when the two sheriffs were adamant that Westview does not exist? Hmm..

But can we talk about two characters specifically! PLEASE. The handsome and witty Jimmy Whoo and the beautiful and smart Darcy Lewis. But I do wonder if she voiced the character Mabel from Gravity Falls??? But...WE LOVE TO SEE IT. It's nice to see a familiar face. I also found it to be weird how I somehow recognised all the S.W.O.R.D. agents. I would understand for two of the characters as I have have seen them in other shows/movies, but the rest not really.

Back on track now. So, as I mentioned before a lot has been cleared up in this episode that I had questions about before. For example the plane, we now understand it was a sort of drone that Monica sent in to view the inside of Westview. But it got sucked into the dimension or energy field that possibly Wanda created. And the guy from two episodes prior who came out of the sewerage. I could actually see the S.W.O.R.D. symbol clearly on his back in this episode. My question is where did he go after, we did not exactly see him return back to the real world, and I guess I kind of understand why his rope changed, but I am still unsure. Maybe more will be revealed in the next episode?
Well, we know now that it was Jimmy who was trying to reach out to Wanda from the other side through the radio. So that for one cleared up so many theories and assumptions I had. I did notice though, that for them it showed the glass breaking but not when the lady's hand cut and she bled, and I know for a fact I did not imagine that scene. It did however skip scenes for them but not all of them were skipped for us, why? Maybe that's just to add to the allude of the series.
However, it was mentioned that there was some censoring going on. My thoughts were who was censoring the broadcast, but after that whole Geraldine scene that us viewers got to see, it was clear that it was Wanda.
Wanda's use of the word "trespasser" alludes to the fact that she may be brainwashing people, and particularly anyone that does not follow in her delusion is essentially a trespasser. With that scene alone of her kicking Geraldine out shows us that there is no way she is not in complete control of what happens.

But can we talk about that one scene where we saw last image of the dying Vision, I got quite a fright.

By the end of the episode, I finally came to the conclusion that Wanda is truly experiencing the stages of grief. She is at the very first step which is shock and denial, which is completely understandable, and never, for even just a moment, do I want to take that away from her. Losing the love of your life is not exactly the easiest thing to get over. I feel she created this fantasy to live out the moments she never really had the chance to live out when Vision was alive. Wanda knows the reality but is choosing to live in her own reality where her and Vision got their happy ending. Their fairy-tale ending. And the truth is that doesn't always happen, sometimes, but not always.
The worst part is I think even though this is Wanda's very controlled fantasy, Vision seems to know, yet at the same time seems to be unaware of what they all are. In this line from the episode, she came here because we are all what. Vision was talking in reference to Geraldine, it also seems everyone else knows as well but are choosing to stay in line to avoid reprimands. I could not help but feel and even see that he was quite uncomfortable after he came in the house to speak with Wanda. But silently it feels like he is pleading with Wanda to let him rest in peace, like he is pleading with a psychopath.

*I do not mean this in way shape or form in a derogatory way, this is just from my observations of Wanda's character, particularly in this series.*

Some of what Vision says to Wanda in the last scene; "we don't have to stay here
we can go anywhere you want to"
To this Wanda responds; "No we can't", why can't they is my question? Is it because she wants to remain in her fantasy or because there is some sort of threat awaiting them?

Last short thing I want to mention was in the credits. There was a new addition of a rose. Now, I don't have the best of knowledge when it comes to plant life and flowers, but I do know that roses are beautiful to look at but again, they are a danger to hold, with prickly thorns sticking out of their stem. This fantasy may pose no harm to Wanda because she may not believe it does but on the dark side of this fantasy, she is plainly holding people against their will, most likely. And keeping them there like puppets.

Unfortunately, my lovely Earthlings, this post has come to an end. :-(
I did really enjoy writing this post, I do feel it was longer than my previous ones but maybe that's just me.
